Want to "pre-order"?  Many of our clients do.  Instructions for "pre-ordering" before your baby is born are on the order form.

Paper:  William Arthur uses imported papers and papers custom made to William Arthur specifications. Custom William Arthur papers are manufactured exclusively in small New England mills according to exacting standards using only the finest quality hard and soft wood fibers, carefully blended to provide that soft feel, creamy texture and substantial weight associated with fine stationery and invitations. William Arthur papers are acid free, endowing them with archival properties ensuring that your announcements may be saved and treasured for generations to come.

Printing method:  The following printing methods are available: flat, thermography, engraved and letterpress.  Not all papers are suitable for all printing methods.  Please see the detailed description for each card to see which printing methods are available for that card.  See question 2 on our FAQ page to learn more about the different printing methods.

Foreign language:  You may use any foreign language using the English alphabet at no additional charge.  A proof is required if any foreign language is used (see below).

Hebrew:  Add up to two lines of Hebrew at no extra charge.  Please order per line by character number from Hebrew instruction sheet.  Click here to see instructions and Hebrew letter typestyles.  A proof is required (see below).

Ink:  Extensive choice at no extra charge.  Click here to see the available ink colors.  Second color ink or ink/blind embossing combination available for an additional $80 for thermography/flat, $125 for letterpress and $200 for engraving.  Separate additional charges apply for the announcement and the envelope, if each are ordered this way.

Multiple color printing:  For thermograph and flat printing, the cost for each additional ink color is $80 per item.  Please note that the charge applies to each item ordered.  For example, if you ordered two-color printing on both the invitations and the printed envelope flaps, the additional charge is $160.  For engraved printing, the cost for each additional color is $200.  For example, If you order 2 color engraving on both invitations and envelope flaps, the additional charge would be $400.  For letterpress printing, the cost for each additional color is $125, etc.

Typestyles:  Extensive choice of typestyles.  William Arthur will adjust the size of type to accomodate your copy.  Typestyles cannot be made bold or italic. Click here to see the available typestyles. Embossed typestyles are also available. Available embossed typestyles. 

Monograms:  An extensive selection of monograms, duograms and kalograms are available.  They are sized as shown.  There is no additional charge to print a monogram, duogram or kalogram unless a second ink color or second printing method is selected.  Click to view: printed monograms | embossed monograms | duograms | kalograms.   On order form, specify where you would like the monogram placed.

Designs:  An extensive selection of stock designs are available.  There is no additional charge to print a stock design unless a second ink color or second printing method is selected.   Click to view: animals | architectural | baby | borders | botanical | decorative | hebrew | holiday | misc. | musical | special occasions | sports | summer.  On order form, specify where you would like the design placed.

Multiple pass printing:  If embossing and thermograph printing is done on the same item, there is an additional charge of $80 for each additional pass.  If embossing and engraving is done on the same item, the charge is $200 for each additional pass.  If embossing and letterpress printing the same item, add $125 for an additional pass.   This charge applies to each item ordered.  For example, if both an embossing pass and a thermograph printing pass are ordered on invitations and on the envelope flaps, then the additional charge is $160.

Photos/Logos: William Arthur can print your photo or logo.  Email us the photo or logo in .tiff, .jpg or .pdf format, with a resolution of at least 300 dpi resolution.  If you are sending a logo and it is mostly line art, it should be at a resolution of at least 800 dpi.  If possible, compress the file using .zip, .sit or .sitx.  There is no additional charge for logos and line art printed in the same color as your text.  Printing logos and line art in a different color than the rest of the text requires the "second ink color" charge (see above).  The charge for printing photos is $160.  Note that photos are printed as half-tones, but can be printed in any color ink.  So if you want your text in black ink and your photo in a sepia tone, the addtional charges would be $160 for the photo fee plus $80 for the second ink color, assuming you ordered your card thermographed or flat-printed.

Ribbons and Bows:  A variety of ribbons and bows are available. Click here to see the available ribbons and bows. Add $1 per ribbon or bow.

Attachments:  Add an attachment at $12.50--$13 per 25.  Note that if you want to add more than one attachment, request it in the "Other Information" area of the order form.  We'll confirm with you and adjust your credit card authorization.  Click here to see the available attachments.

Envelope colors:  White or ecru, to match your invitation, announcement or stationery, unless otherwise noted.  Please note that color envelopes are not suitable for all printing methods.  Please see the description for each item for details.

Printed return address:  The printer can print your return address on the back of the envelopes in the typestyle that you used on your invitation, announcement or stationery for an additional charge.  In addition, you may select any of the address layouts.  Please note that address layouts are available only in the typstyle and sizes shown.

Extra envelopes:  Extra envelopes are available at the following prices:  $10 for 25 unprinted envelopes, $15 for 25 flat or thermography printed envelopes, $17.50 for 25 letterpress envelopes and $20 for 25 engraved envelopes.  For imported papers, the prices are: $50 for 25 unprinted envelopes, $57.50 for 25 flat or thermography printed envelopes, $60 for 25 letterpressed envelopes and $62.50 for 25 engraved envelopes.

Printer's proof:  A black & white proof can be emailed or faxed to you:  $22 for first proof; $16 for each additional proof.  Color proofs are not available.

Reorders:  A 25 card minimum is required for all reorders.  Reorders are priced as new orders and are billed according to the price sheet above.  Be sure to order enough the first time!

Delivery time:  To determine your Delivery Time, add your order's Proofing Time, Printing Time and Shipping Time, as follows (all times are best estimates and are not guaranteed):

   Proofing Time:

2-3 business days.

   Printing Time:

Flat and thermograph: 4-7 business days.

Letterpress and engraved: 5-10 business days.

Ground:  varies from 2-10 business days, depending upon how far you are from the printing location in Maine.  We don't charge you for ground shipping on orders totaling $400 or more.  (If the order is less than $400, shipping is $8 per order.)

2 business day Federal Express:  $27 for shipping and handling for orders of less than 1000 cards.  Shipping cost for larger orders is based on weight and destination.

Next business day Federal Express:  $32 for shipping and handling for orders of less than 1000 cards.  Shipping cost for larger orders is based on weight and destination.

International Shipping:  The shipping costs shown above are for deliveries within the continental US.  Costs will be greater for deliveries to other destinations. International customers are responsible for any customs duties of the destination country.  Customs documents will show package contents as "merchandise-stationery" and the value shown will be the purchase price of your order.
